Ontario road test questions, answered plainly.
Short answers for learners, parents, newcomers, and instructors who want practical prep without route myths or invented review claims.
Roadity
Is Roadity an official DriveTest route source?
No. Roadity is independent. We help drivers practise the road types and skills that matter, but official appointments, rules, fees, and centre details come from DriveTest and Ontario sources.
Does Roadity publish exact road test routes?
No. Exact route memorization is fragile and can create unsafe preparation. Roadity focuses on repeatable skills, local road types, centre logistics, and test-day habits.
Who is Roadity for?
Roadity is for Ontario learners preparing for G1, G2, or full G, parents helping a new driver, newcomers learning Ontario expectations, and instructors who want students to practise more deliberately.
How should I choose a DriveTest centre?
Choose a centre where you can practise legally and realistically before test day. Appointment availability matters, but familiarity with road types and test-day logistics matters more.
How should I compare driving schools?
Start with Ontario's approved BDE school list when you need Beginner Driver Education. Then compare instructor fit, pickup area, lesson availability, test-day vehicle policy, and real learner feedback.
Does Roadity show driving school reviews?
Roadity pages are structured around verified learner review signals. We do not invent ratings or testimonials, and we avoid showing review claims unless real review data is available.
G1 test
Is the G1 test a road test?
No. The G1 test is a knowledge and vision step. The first car road test is the G2 road test after the required G1 waiting period.
Should I use the handbook or an app?
Use the official handbook as the source of truth, then use an app or quizzes to repeat weak topics until the rules are easy to recall.
G2 road test
How long is the G2 road test?
DriveTest says the G2 test usually takes about 20 minutes, although check-in, waiting, weather, and vehicle checks add time to the appointment.
Can I take the G2 after 8 months?
You may be eligible after 8 months if you complete an approved Beginner Driver Education course. Otherwise, most drivers wait 12 months.
Full G road test
Does the G test include highway driving?
DriveTest describes the G test as including a highway component. Some locations use major roads or expressways based on local road access.
Is the Ontario G test still modified?
Ontario and DriveTest state that the modified G test continues at full-time DriveTest centres until further notice, while part-time Travel Point locations may offer the standard test.
Use official sources for the rules that can change.
Roadity helps with preparation. Ontario and DriveTest remain the source of truth for licence rules, centre details, fees, and booking.
